Air Conditioner Parts

My air conditioner only blows out warm air during the day but at night it seems cold, i put a 12oz can of r134a and an 18oz can of r134a+ in and still shows no different reseults, the metal part though by the low pressure spout is very cold though when a/c is on. do i just need another can or something because I don’t want to waste any more money if its not going to work

The air condition unit is only 3 years old and it is a Ruud Acheiver Series, the technician is my neighbor and he came over on a Saturday to diagnose the problem. He found out that the part is under warranty and wants to charge me 0 for labor and diagnostic. I live in Austin, tx and just want to see if this price is fair???

All the parts are new (that have to do with the ac system); condenser, filter, etc… And if I am driving at 50mph more or less.. Then the ac is fine…. But if Im at a stand still (idling), the ac seems to not work at all sometimes, until I start driving again.
Anyone know why exactly?

So i live in a apartment with an old bitch as a landlord that everybody over here hates. So meaning i cant cut a hole through a wall or mount a wall or anything, and,my window is actually seperated glasses that rotates with a knob. It also has a screen to keep bugs out, and i was thinking. Is it bottom part of the window open and put the hose by it to vent out the heat that way?

i have a digital air conditioner manufacture by general electric.
every year i clean the metal parts to remove all fungus and
dust that is stuck in suction part. i finish cleaning my a/c but
when i press POWER to turn it on, it won’t turn on. I cover that
part so it won’t get wet when i was watering that the razor metal
parts of the a/c. can anyone help. it’s too hot and we can’t
survive without a a/c. please help

Stupid mistake on my part. I just installed a window AC and I threw away some of the insulation for the copper tubes thinking that it was packaging materials. 1) is this going ot damage the AC. 2) If I put new styrofoam insulation on, whcih tubes need to be insulated?

Ok so i took apart my air conditioner to clean it and now i dont know where this 1 part goes its a little rubber thing is there a website where it shows me where a part of the air conditioner goes plz help

Obviously the very outside of the thing would be designed to hold up to rain, but one of the two storm windows is out. It’s raining pretty hard right now, so water is pouring down on the top of the entire thing, except for what’s inside the inner part of the window, including some vents (or intakes maybe) that would normally have been shielded by the second storm window. I don’t know if I should take the thing out or what.

The fan that turns in the back to blow out exhaust doesn’t work, and the stupid lady who sells the parts has no clue which one is for what I want. Would it be the condenser fan motor or the evaporator fan motor that sends exhaust out the back and into the duct work?

The plug and part of the cord on my air conditioner get warm after about 10 minutes of turning it on. It’s not so hot that I can’t touch it but pretty warm. After about a couple of hours it seems to cool down a bit. Is it safe to use?

I’m trying to replace our AC compressor fan motor. The old one had a three prong capacitor with one wire running to the contactor then the fan motor, one wire running directly to the motor and a 3rd wire running to the actual compressor. The motor the parts store gave me is only a two prong capacitor. I know both of the wires from the fan motor go to different sides, but now where do I put the wire from the actual compressor?

I moved from an apartment and used a regular window before, now i only have a sliding door to use. I have all the parts but the mount used for the hose outlet is not nearly tall enough, What can I do???

My window, regular 2-part opens by sliding up, has an opening 21" wide, too small for all the room air conditioners I can find. However, casement window type units will fit narrower window openings. Will a casement window unit fit in my window?

my air conditioning does not work in my car and i was wondering how much could i be expected to pay if i want it fixed? I have a 97′ sunfire. I’m assuming with labor and parts 0-450 range is that about right?

I am installing a air conditioner in a double hung window, but the sliding part of the double hung window takes up about 2 extra inches when spun upwards to create the opening, and the air conditioner wont fit. If I can take out the one part of the window, it will fit, but I do not see how it comes out. How do I go about taking it out to fit the air conditioner in?

We live in Fl so its hot we set our thermostat at 76 degrees for the most part it reads 80 degree though it is set at 76…is this normal or is there something wrong with our air conditioner?

My apartment air conditioner has frozen up no fewer than 6 times this summer. It’s a royal pain. To make it worse, I’m recovering from surgery and am homebound for several weeks.

I want to tell the apartment manager to fix whatever is causing it once and for all. What part needs to be replaced? Or does the whole thing need to go?

It’s fully charged, but it only blows cold air when it wants to.

I have a GE AEW08AJS1 air conditioner in my window. The PCB seems to have gone bad, as neither the remote, nor the "temp down" button work, at all. Can anyone help me find a new one? I need the part number, or a place I can find it. Please help!

My (central) air conditioner isn’t cooling the air. The parts seem to work. It keeps blowing room-temperature air, even though I’m setting the thermostat down into the mid-60’s, just to see if it gets cold here. Outside temperature is currently 80. Any idea what is wrong?
Is it safe to "shoot" my condenser with my garden hose? Can I shoot it from the side, horizontally? Following one man’s suggestion to clean it of grass clippings.

Our house has an addition on the back which has its own air conditioning unit, plus we have the air conditioner for the original part of the house. Is it possible to replace these two units with one when the time comes to replace them? Our house is pretty small, around 1750 SF. I’d like to avoid paying for two units if possible. Thanks.

i am selling a used 4 ton, 10 seer RUUD air conditioner and i was going to try and sell it for 0-900 but someone is selling a 4 ton, 10 seer RUUD A/C Condensor for 0 whats the deal? same thing?
